The Komeleya Mafên Mirova (IHD, Human Right Association ) in Diyarbakir issued a statement regarding the arrests of Kurdish organizations and institutions.
They say you cannot criminalize Kurdish and Kurdish culture.
“On April 24, 2024, tomorrow morning, the police, on behalf of the Amed Prosecutor’s Office, arrested members of the Language and Culture Research Association (MED-DER) and Payiz Publishing. The directors of Payiz Publishing and several others were also detained. In this investigation, it was decided that there would be no release, and meetings with the defenders are also prohibited, as this has become a routine for the authorities and security forces.
There are organizations that have been serving Kurdish and Kurdish culture in the region since their establishment, and we do not accept the pressures and oppression against these organizations. Our demand is that those who have been detained be released immediately.
