Kurdish designer Lara Dizeye has brought Kurdish fashion to the world level with her work for one year.

Lara Dizeye will be showcasing her designs at Paris Fashion Week in early July.

For the first time, Kurdish folk clothing will be presented on the world stage by a Kurdish designer.

I have always believed that my work would reach a world stage. I created my designs with great hope and love. I am a lover of fashion. That’s why I always knew that these works would take me to this level.

Designer Lara Dizayee

Dizayee is now in Hewler in South Kurdistan. She is the daughter of the famous poet Homer Dizayee. She was born in Vienna and grew up in America. She graduated from George Mason University with a degree in international relations. After working as an oil and gas professional for 11 years, she returned to her passion for fashion.

My inspiration came from my grandmother’s clothes. As I grew up, I admired my grandmother’s colorful clothes.

Sefwan Mountain and Hewler Castle are hosting beautiful models with Kurdish clothes these days.

Models dressed in Kurdish clothes are shining like stars on Hewler Castle.

Each of Lara’s creations has a name and story.

Her latest creation is named her mother.

The creation of ‘Ronak’ will also be performed in Paris.

My every creation has a story. The last one is a gift for my mother. Because she is like a mountain behind me.

Lara’s creations are getting more interest in Iraq and South Kurdistan.

Already her list of orders is filled. But now money is the last target for her.

She wants Kurdish clothes to be known and noticed in the world. That’s why she doesn’t sell any of her creations.

Kurdish cloth models vary according to regions and cities.

In the South, traditional clothes form three layers.

A colorful and long dress, a colorful scarf is worn under the dress, and a short vest is worn over the dress.

Their shoulders are tied together.

Old Kurdish clothes are getting spread internationally.

Lara would love to dress Kurdish singer Aynur Dogan and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani one day.
