Neither millionaires nor parties and organizations are behind us, you are all we have!
Botan International has published over a thousand Kurdish articles on the botantimes.com website in a year. We have paid over a million TL by international funds as royalties. All articles are available free of charge to our readers. We do not have funds now and we have no other incomes, we need your support.
For the past four years, we have provided training for Kurdish journalism, psychological, and technical support, as well as a free-of-charge studio made possible by the generous support of RSF, EED, and the Chrest Foundation.
We have trained 367 participants, held 67 workshops, and in the last four months, journalists have recorded 261 programs in our studio.
Botan Times Kurdish section has 172,000 readers this year. 3,000 of our readers live in the USA.
Subscribing for $6 (200TL) or $9 may not change your life, but we need that support to continue our work.
The Ronahi Magazine by Emir Jeladet Ali Bedirkhan is a unique example of the direction in which we are heading.
Emir Jeladet initially received funding from France and England for the publication of Hawar and Ronahi. He then requested that his readers subscribe to the magazines. Furthermore, our initial funding came from France and England and we are now seeking to engage our readers as subscribers.
The media landscape has undergone a significant transformation, and the majority of outlets are now digital, but the protection of Kurdish and Kurdishness is still on our side. The effort of Kurdish work is valuable and if it is paid, this work becomes stronger.
We are aware of the challenges faced by the Kurds including the difficulty in reading Kurdish, which is why we do not charge for reading our news and articles. However, we would like to let you know that we need you on our side.
