Taxi driver Hamdi: Kurds love me very much

Hamdi is a young man from Batman and he works as a taxi driver in Istanbul. He’s known for introducing Kurdish music to his foreign customers. Many people ask him why he doesn’t model because he’s so handsome.

I took 7 months to learn English

We have moved our house to Istanbul for 11 years. I worked in construction for 7 years. After we started working in construction, my brother started driving taxis. I also started following him. Now, I work as a driver on the streets of Istanbul at night.

Many foreign customers came and I wanted to talk to them. 7 months ago I started to ask questions from customers and learn English from them.

I have learned to a certain extent. After that I said to take videos. The videos went viral. Many people watched.

Our Kurmans are forced to eat

I enjoy our kurmanci. Sometimes they throw themselves in front of my taxi. Someone stops in front of my car with a taxi or motorbike. They block the road and forcefully take me to the restaurant. They force me to eat even when I am full. You know they want to show their love. I am happy about that. What makes me happier is that knowledgeable and understanding people, doctors, academics, engineers write to me and congratulate me.

Many Turkish people attack me because I play Kurdish music in my videos and teach Kurdish to my customers. Sending threatening messages. But even if I turn on Turkish music, they still attack.

Come be a model!

Some people and some companies offer me to model. But I’m not ready for that. I want to do something I know. Of course, I don’t want to work as a driver in Istanbul forever. I want to go to America, learn English well there. Then I want to work for Uber.
