Gazete Duvar reporter Evrim Deniz was released last night. Deniz, who gave information to Botan Times, said that she was detained because of her social media posts.
Social media posts stating that the judge and prosecutor who tried the journalists were married were deemed a crime.
The crime directed against Deniz: Targeting a state official who is engaged in the fight against terrorism.
T24 editor Sibel Yükler, Mesopotamia Agency reporters Delal Akyüz and Fırat Can Arslan and Women’s and LGBT rights editor Evrim Kepenek were arrested in house raids in Diyarbekir, Ankara and Izmir in the same day.
