In Turkey, the election agenda is gradually heating up. On the one hand, there are discussions about the candidates, and on the other hand, there are also discussions about the date of the election.
The author of Hurrıyet newspaper Abdulkadir Selvi shared the views of AKP Deputy General Ali İhsan Yavuz on the issue.
Yavuz says, “Regarding the date of the election, our president has not yet made a decision and has not announced a date for the elections.”
According to Yavuz, the date of June 18 is the same yet.
Aksener: There is no date for you to be elected
The leader of the IYI Party, Meral Akşener, also joined the discussions and targeted the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Aksenera spoke at her party caucus and addressed Erdogan to change the date of the election.
She said, “In the next 5 months, there is no date for you to be elected.”
Discussions on the date of the election started with Omer Çelik’s speech.
Çelik stated that in June because many people go on vacation, they want to hold the election earlier.
The date of the presidential election is June 18, 2023. According to Turkish laws, elections are held every four years.
